MDSA24 is mentioned in Parliament
MDSA24 opened an account at Lloyds Bank which offered free banking to not-for-profit and charitable organisations. Lloyds Bank have now decided to withdraw free banking and to levy monthly charges on these groups.
Luke Myer, MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland, raised this issue in the House of Commons at Department of Work And Pensions departmental questions on Monday, 12th May.
MDSA24’s Interim Chair, Tom Blenkinsop commented:
“We are grateful to Luke for raising this issue in Parliament for us. MDSA24 is working to improve matchday experiences for all fans with disabilities, as well as carers – banks should not be penalising us for that. We hope Lloyds will reconsider the way they approach not-for-profits and charity organisations like Middlesbrough Disabled Supporters Association 2024.”
